Restoration of coat of arms images
The Heraldic Workshop provides
a "coat of arms image restoration" service based on the BLASON and IMAGE.
A blazon (from the French "blason" meaning shield) is a written description of the symbols and attributes in a coat of arms, their position and colour. In European and world heraldry, it is compiled according to the tradition of the country.
Coat of arms restoration can be carried out based on a complete or partial blazon, as well as based on an image of the coat of arms.
Coat of arms restoration — is the process of recreating the image of a coat of arms. It may include redrawing an existing image, as well as creating modern electronic layouts suitable for use in the manufacture of products, in digital and other formats.
Who might need to restore a coat of arms:
Heirs to ancient coats of arms who wish to preserve their family history and obtain a high-quality image for modern use.
Those who only have a text description of a coat of arms (e.g. from a book) but no illustration.
Those who have ancient family documents in which the coat of arms has only been preserved in the form of a seal or stamp and have no other suitable images.
Those who want to modernise an old coat of arms while preserving its meaning and symbolism.
Collectors and historians working on the restoration of ancient artefacts, documents or portraits where the coat of arms image has been lost or faded.
Those who want to see their coat of arms in a different artistic style or technique, such as watercolour, engraving or as an emblem.
People preparing documents on their family history, such as a family book, family tree or presentation of the family archive.
People who own family homes or estates and want to place the coat of arms on the facade, inside the building or on decorative elements.
Legal entities that previously used the coat of arms in the corporate identity of a dynastic business or family brand.
Whatever your reason for restoring a coat of arms, our artists and heraldists can recreate your symbol using your preferred technique.
